Split PDF

Split a PDF into separate files.

To split a PDF into separate files:

  1. Open Split PDF from the tools list.
  2. Drop your PDF — the Split PDF dialog opens.
  3. Choose a mode: Page ranges ("One file per range"), Every N pages ("Equal chunks"), or Every page ("One file per page").
  4. For Page ranges, type the ranges into Ranges (e.g. "1-3, 4-6, 7") — separate files with commas. For Every N pages, type a number into Pages per file.
  5. Click Split into <n> files.

What you'll see when it's done: a summary above the button reads e.g. "Makes 3 files: pages 1–4 · 5–9 · 10–12" (or "one per page"); each part is a clickable page number that shows that page on the canvas, and any page a ranges spec leaves out is listed as "Not included: pages …". With more than one file they download together as one .zip; with a single file, it downloads (or saves, on desktop) on its own, and the dialog shows "<name> downloaded." with a Download again button.

If something goes wrong

A ranges value DocuFlow can't read shows its problem under the Ranges field. "Splitting needs the online engine, which is unreachable right now." appears if the connection drops.
