Extract pages
Pull specific pages out into a new PDF.
To pull pages out into a new PDF:
- Open Extract pages from the tools list.
- Drop your PDF — the Extract to new document dialog opens: "Click the pages you want to take out. They move into a new document here in the editor."
- Click the pages you want in the page grid, or type their numbers into Pages (e.g. "1-3, 5"). Use Select all or Clear as needed.
- Optional: change New document name; tick Split into several documents and set a pages-per-document count to make more than one new file instead of one.
- Click the confirm button — named after the job, e.g. Make 3 documents or Extract 2 pages.
What you'll see when it's done: while the dialog is open, the page grid rings every page that's leaving and dims the ones that stay, and a summary reads e.g. "Makes 3 documents" or "Takes 2 pages into a new document", with what the source keeps noted underneath (e.g. "2 pages stay in this document", or "This document will be left empty"). Once you confirm, the extracted pages open as a new document tab; a message says where they went (e.g. "Extracted 2 pages to Extract 1") with a Back to <source> button. If you took every page, the source document shows "<name> has no pages left".
With nothing picked yet, the strip reads "Click the pages you want to take out, or type their numbers above." and the confirm button is disabled. If you type a page number the document doesn't have, DocuFlow explains the problem under the Pages box and keeps the confirm button disabled until it's fixed.
