Compress PDF

Shrink a PDF's file size.

To shrink a PDF's file size:

  1. Open Compress PDF from the tools list.
  2. Drop your PDF (or Choose files / From library) — you can add more than one and add more with Add more.
  3. Above the page, DocuFlow reads the file and says what compression will do to it: "No images found — this PDF is mostly text, so compression won't change much", or "Images on <n> of the first <m> pages — those are where the savings come from."
  4. Choose Compression: Smaller file ("Smallest size; images may look softer."), Balanced ("A good size with images that still look good."), or Best quality ("Keeps images sharp; the file shrinks less.").
  5. Click Compress PDF (or Compress <n> PDFs).

What you'll see when it's done: each finished file's row shows its size before and after, with Download, Download all (.zip) when there's more than one, Save to library, Open in editor for a single file, and Start over.

If something goes wrong

Nothing specific to Compress — a wrong file type dropped here shows "DocuFlow needs a PDF file here."
