Sanitize PDF

Strips hidden information you may not want to share: document details, attached files, scripts, links and comments — you choose which.

To sanitize a PDF:

  1. Drop your PDF.
  2. Tick what to remove: Remove document details (title, author…), Remove attached files, Remove scripts, Remove links and comments. The first three are ticked by default; links and comments are not.
  3. Select Sanitize PDF.

The preview lists what each ticked item will actually remove from this file, for example "Will remove 3 document properties (Title, Author, Subject)" or "Will remove 2 attachments (invoice.xlsx, notes.txt)". An item with nothing to remove shows its own "none found" line, e.g. "Attachments: none found"; an item you haven't ticked shows what would be kept instead, e.g. "Kept: 2 links and 1 comment".

What you'll see when it's done: a Done card with the file's size before → after.
