Repair PDF

Attempts to fix a PDF that won't open properly or has damaged pages.

To repair a PDF:

  1. Drop the PDF. There are no options to set.
  2. Select Repair PDF.

The preview checks how many pages can actually be read before you run it: "Opens fine: 3 of 3 pages can be read — repair rewrites the file cleanly", or "Only 1 of 3 pages can be read — worth repairing". A password-protected file shows "This PDF is password-protected — remove the password first"; a file that won't open at all shows "This file couldn't be opened — worth repairing."

What you'll see when it's done: "Done — <file>.pdf is ready", with a download button for the repaired file.

If something goes wrong

A failed run shows its reason under the button.
